There have been discussions about changing some of the dates of the current East Central League (Classic League) schedules for the 2009-2010 season. There is also a proposal to do this in a phased way, start with HS Girls teams (U15-U19) playing in Fall only (Sunday games), and HS Boys (U15-U19), playing in Spring/Summer only (as current schedule, but optional games in July)
The proposal would call for Boys and Girls U11-U14 teams to play games in Fall (Sept/Oct) and Spring/Summer (mid/late April-end of June, optional games in July). The current phased proposal has the U11 and U12 age-levels start this for the 2009-2010 season and the U13 and U14 age-levels for the 2010-2011 season.
New levels (new naming) will be created, A, B and C instead of National, World and American. For the U11-U14 age levels only the A level teams would play the Fall and Spring/Summer season and the B and C levels would play a shortened Spring/Summer season with all levels and ages having the option to add games in a "tournament" format for the month of July.
This would allign more with how league schedules for youth soccer are set for the rest of the Midwest and Wisconsin.
Give us your feedback in the current Power Poll. It is pretty much inevitable that due to WIAA (High School soccer) dates the HS Girls will play in Fall and HS Boys will play in Spring/Summer (shortened season).
